Could you tell us the nature of the service or business you are involved in？
CoAdna was built in 2000 by four doctors of optical science from the US (two of them are Chinese Americans) with investment of American venture capital companies. The headquarters in silicon valley, California, takes charge of making an overall plan on operations, as well as design and distribution of optical communications components. The R & D center is located at Kent LCD technology center, Ohio, responsible for design and development of LCD chips. CoAdna has got approval for its products from Verizon, the largest communications company in North America, since 2005. Its products used to be applied in North America’s first ROADM optical communications network, and so far thousands of CoAdna WSS (wavelength-selective switches) have been deployed to optical communications network across the globe. Depending on WSS technology breakthrough and excellent service, we’ve obtained a series of quality certification with an increase of sales, which drives us to be a leading vendor in the market. With the rapid growth of market, CoAdna Suzhou was established in Suzhou Industrial Park Comprehensive Bonded Zone B. Besides, our employees travel abroad frequently and use mobile devices massively, so they use FileMaker Pro to develop e-signing system and integrate ERP data, which allows us to operate daily work faster, easier, and check the data anytime, anywhere.
Before using FileMaker, did you have any problem with the tools you were using? Or did you have any trouble in your business?
We used to complete signing on tons of paper, which were often missing and hard to track. We had tried to deploy some e-signing application packages, but most of them are insufficient in function and developed based on JAVA. Therefore the deployment would raise a challenge to the training of maintainers.
How has FileMaker helped you? Can you give some examples and description?
Mainly for e-signing. It allows us to promote paper-free operation extensively. In addition to the reduction of paper consumption, the time duration of document signing is also shortened substantially. For instance, we usually had to spend a long term (possibly one month) to complete the signing for leaves on paper when the manager was on a business trip. Thanks to the e-signing system, we are now able to complete 95% document signing within 3 days.

FileMaker Pro enables high-speed development, integration of personal computer and mobile device, as well as AV and image. All of these allow us to sign on any document instantly upon the requirement release. No matter where you are, the e-signing system is just at your fingertips.
