Could you tell us the nature of the service or business you are involved in?
Established in 1980, Fayin Ltd. focused on Taiwan market as an instruments importer during the initial stage. The business, service and management departments each performs its own functions, maintaining a steady growth relying on outstanding expertise. In 1980s, Fayin Ltd. tapped into automatic control system (ACS) design and setting. In 1993, we set up a separate system department for ACS design and officially launched system-related business, in hopes of making up the gap in technology and going deep into the industry. In 2001, the market went into recession but we expanded our business scale and set up Dept 1 and Dept 2, seeking more opportunities and challenges. In 2002, the service department was renamed technical support department, and the marketing department was established to boost diversification. In 2009, Fayin Ltd. was renamed Fayin Enterprise Limited(Fayin Inc.) Adhering to the customer-centric concept formed during the past 30 years, the company devotes to serving its customers with more innovative practices.

Why do you want to use FileMaker in your business?
Previously we used Approach but the producer stopped providing updates later. As a result it was apt to run more and more errors on an updated OS. We had made evaluation on ERP vendors and FileMaker, and as we have developers who are able to do further development, we decided to use FileMaker.

Before using FileMaker, did you have any problem with the tools you were using? Or did you have any trouble in your business? 
Approach is developed based on the old system environment, so it consumes a huge amount of resources when performing remote login. However, FileMaker supports both remote login and APP, very convenient for our services in and out of the office.

How does it help you with your problems? Could you give an example or describe?
Just like using the data to do conversion. We may convert the quotation to purchase order, delivery order, inventory data, receivable account and invoice, etc., so as to save a lot of time and minimize errors in documents processing. We used to do copy and paste repeatedly. Although the old system enables conversion also, the efficiency is quite low. FileMaker allows you to do it with just one click.
